PMS is a cyclical premenstrual syndrome that occurs in girls and women before menstruation. Depending on the nature of the symptoms, it is customary to distinguish five main forms of PMS: neuropsychic, vegetative-vascular, edematous, cephalgic and antipic, which, however, can be successfully combined within one female body.

The main cause of PMS is dissatisfaction with sex life. PMS is also associated with increased sensitivity of women to their own hormones, changes in the functioning of the central nervous system. The hereditary nature of the disease is also noted. The manifestation and aggravation of PMS is facilitated by psycho-emotional experiences, strong physical exertion, conflicts, stressful situations.

Most women suffer from PMS. More precisely, from 50 to 80 percent of the female population of the Earth, of which only 10 have severe PMS syndromes.

PMS peaks around age 30. Doctors are inclined to explain this by the fact that by the age of 30, a woman, as a rule, gets a family, a husband, and a job. All this, combined with household chores, is a heavy burden on the shoulders of a woman who had previously been left to herself.

PMS causes swelling. In a number of women, fluid retention in the body causes swelling of the arms, legs, face, bloating, swelling and chest pain. With the onset of menstruation, the symptoms go away.

PMS must and can be fought. Hormonal and diuretic drugs, antidepressants, tranquilizers. A special diet is also recommended, consisting of the consumption of vitamins of groups A, B and E, foods high in potassium (for example, raisins, dried apricots), carbohydrates (they increase the serotanin content, which improves mood and sleep regulation) and restriction of salt. On such days, exercise also helps, in which the body produces the so-called hormones of happiness, which help to reduce the general negative attitude of a woman.

In PMS, women deteriorate in character. This is how the neuropsychic form of this disease manifests itself, in which a woman becomes very irritable and overly whiny, often even for a very insignificant reason. In this difficult time, it is better not to irritate women, but to surround them with care and attention, in order to avoid the transformation of irritation into depression, which will be much more difficult to deal with.

The best medicine for PMS is chocolate. Most women think so, but doctors do not quite agree with them - for women whose bodies are prone to edema during PMS days, it is highly discouraged to consume both chocolate and any other very sweet or fatty foods that retain water in the body.

Aromatherapy helps with PMS. Provided that any unusual smell does not make you naturally feel like retiring in the bathroom. In all other cases, it is recommended to take daily baths with chamomile, rosemary, lavender and lemon essential oils. A couple of drops of jasmine or rose oil on a low power light bulb will have a good effect.

With PMS, you don't need to see a doctor. If the symptoms are familiar to you, you know how to relieve or reduce them, and they do not cause much trouble to you and your body. Otherwise, it is best to consult with a specialist on the subject - is not something more serious, for example, some kind of physical or psychological illness, worth such familiar PMS.
