Distance learning is a method of organizing the learning process based on the use of modern information and telecommunication technologies, which allow learning at a distance without direct contact between the teacher and the student.
Distance learning is not a novelty either in the world or in our country. Its popularity is growing every year, and there are reasons for this. However, there are many misconceptions about distance education, and this article will try to dispel them.
Distance learning is carried out using the Internet. There are actually several types of distance learning. The student can receive lectures and assignments not only by e-mail, but also by regular mail. Also on audio or video media. In addition, there is a special form of interaction through satellite television, but in our country it has not been sufficiently tested due to its high cost.
Busy people choose distance education. This is not the only reason people study remotely! The leading factors are the lack of money and the impossibility of obtaining education in distant regions, where there are simply no decent universities. The opportunity to get an education without interrupting daily activities is only an additional incentive.
In distance education, there is no interaction between student and teacher. This is not entirely true. A student receiving distance education does not attend lectures and does not meet with the teacher, but at any time he can contact him by e-mail or call by phone.
Students do not have the opportunity to study individually. Quite the opposite, distance students have much more chances than full-time students to get answers to questions of interest from the teacher and listen to his point of view, as well as analyze the exercises done.

And the desire to learn from a distance student is obviously more than from a full-time student, because distance education is chosen deliberately. At the same time, many of the teachers interviewed in the United States confirm that the results from distance learning are not only not inferior, but in many respects are superior to traditional ones.
Distance learning is clearly worse than any other. Why is this so? Distance learning is mobile, comfortable, easier and cheaper to implement. Modern educational systems offer a fairly complete amount of knowledge, and the only thing that distance students lack is practical training, but correspondence students and evening students also have similar problems.
The desire to study remotely quickly disappears when there is no teacher controlling the process. Naturally, an unassembled young person who does not show interest in the subject will not be able to study remotely, but such people simply should not start studying at home. For result-oriented students, the desire to learn should not, and does not disappear. And the lack of control, on the contrary, has a positive effect on the educational process.
Distance learning is neither promising nor effective. Research conducted around the world confirms the opposite: in 5-7 years the popularity of distance learning will not only not fall, but will increase hundreds of times. It is assumed that distance education is the future of all education as a whole!
