A dream book (dream interpreter) is a book containing information that allows you to interpret the meaning of certain images seen by a person in a dream. Since ancient times, either shamans and priests, or people who have undergone special training, have been engaged in the interpretation of dreams.

At the same time, both special techniques for entering a special altered state of consciousness were used, as well as various kinds of dream books. Some of them are known today (for example, "Oneurocritics" - a five-volume dream book created by the Greek Artemidor Daldiansky at the turn of the 2nd-3rd centuries AD).

For the interpretation of dreams, it is best to use one dream book. Yes, if you have devoted a lot of time to comparing the interpretations of your chosen dream book and the events in real life that followed this or that dream, and found many coincidences. But in the event that such observations have not been made, it is best to consider several options for interpreting dream images - this will allow you to give the dream a broader and more detailed description.

The older the dream book, the more correct interpretation of dreams it contains. In ancient times, people really achieved considerable success in comprehending the true meaning of dreams. However, it should be remembered that, firstly, the above interpretation was most often made individually, and only in this case was it 100% correct, since the meaning of dream images for different people can be different, and sometimes diametrically opposite. Secondly, ancient dream books were recorded on fragile information carriers (papyrus or birch bark scrolls, clay tablets), which lost their integrity over time. As a result, some records were lost forever. Thirdly, even well-preserved ancient dream books are sometimes difficult to read, since the languages in which the records were kept either have undergone many significant changes, which makes it difficult to decipher, or have been completely forgotten. And, finally, a set of dream images that are relevant to our ancestors is not always suitable for a modern person, while a considerable number of new objects and phenomena that have enriched our life (and, as a result, diversified dreams) are not interpreted in ancient dream books at all.

Shamans were not good dream interpreters. Completely erroneous opinion. Interpretations of dreams by shamans were very accurate, since they were made not through logical thinking, but through immersion in a special state that allows one to comprehend the true essence of things and explore the dream world "from the inside". However, it should be borne in mind that even using a shamanic dream book (but without using special techniques called "ecstatic travel" and allowing people to go beyond the visible world), it is not always possible to correctly determine the meaning of sleep. Also, using shamanic dream books, it should be remembered that in ancient times, the interpretation of dreams was often influenced by people's everyday life. For example, any images seen by a representative of the Mistassini Cree people (Northern Quebec) will be interpreted by the shaman as an omen of success (or failure) in the upcoming hunt for caribou deer (whether it be a battle scene or a meeting with a beautiful stranger).

The creator of the ancient Egyptian dream book is Kenkhepeshef, a scribe of one of the pharaohs. This is not entirely true. Discovered in Deir el-Medina (one of the necropolises of Egypt) in 1928, the papyrus scrolls containing the aforementioned text were indeed part of the archive, according to researchers, which belonged to Kencherhepeshef, the scribe of the pharaoh. However, the dream book was not written by Kenkhepeshef. The researchers came to such conclusions by comparing samples of handwriting on scrolls (the front part of which contained information about the interpretation of dreams, while the opposite was the records made by the owner of the manuscript (copies of business correspondence, fragments of a poem, etc.)) and concluded that the records on the front and back of the papyri were led by two different people.

The Old Russian dream book was created by our ancestors many hundreds of years ago. Yes, since ancient times, our ancestors were engaged in the interpretation of dream images, and tried to systematize their conclusions and observations, compiling dream books. However, the collection of interpretations of dreams, called the "Old Russian Dream Book", was clearly created not so long ago, as evidenced by the explanation of the meanings of some dream images characteristic of our days (for example, a car, lampshade, newspaper, tie, elevator, etc.). During the time of Ancient Russia, the mentioned objects simply did not exist, and, as a result, they could not dream and subsequently be interpreted in dream books.

The dream book of Nostradamus not only interprets dreams, but also helps to see the future. Nostradamus (real name - Michel de Notrdam) - a famous astrologer, doctor, alchemist and soothsayer who lived in France in the VI century, is the author of a considerable number of books. Among them - the astrological almanac (published annually from 1550 (according to another version - from 1555) to 1556 and was a prophecy for the current year), the world famous "Prophecies of Master Michel Nostradamus" (so-called 10 " Centuries ", which consisted of 942 quatrains (quatrains)), chronology, translations, books on cosmetics, cooking, etc. However, the seer did not compose a dream book. The work called "The Dream Book of Nostradamus", containing the interpretation of 67 dream images, was created by unknown authors based on his prophecies.

The dream book, compiled by Wanga, will help you discover the gift of a fortuneteller. Misconception. Vanga (Vangelia Pandeva Gushterova, née Dimitrova), a clairvoyant from Bulgaria, really saw prophetic dreams and could interpret them. However, she did not compose any dream books. And the collections of interpretations of dreamy images, called "Vanga's Dream Book", are a selection of the sayings of the soothsayer (as a result of which the volume of the above-mentioned dream book is very modest - about 70 images). In addition, it should be borne in mind that certain dream images mentioned in the dream book had a certain prophetic meaning most often only for the Vangelia itself, therefore the use of "Vanga's Dream Book" is unlikely to help an ordinary person acquire the gift of a predictor.

Freud's dream book, will tell about the hidden sexual desires of a person. First, it should be borne in mind that Sigmund Freud himself (full name - Sigismund Shlomo Freud), a neurologist, psychologist and psychiatrist from Austria, did not compose any dream books, although he studied dreams for a long time. The result of his research was the book "The Interpretation of Dreams", which was published in 1900. However, only the basic principles and some examples of the interpretation of dreams were described in it, a detailed dream book was not attached. Secondly, although Freud really considered dreams to be a reflection of hidden selfish desires, but by no means all of them, in his opinion, are sexual in nature. In adults, manifestations of latent hatred are just as common, and towards people who are loved and revered in real life (relatives and friends), and in children - unsatisfied desires for possession of this or that object (for example, any toy, sweets, etc.) .).

The dream book, compiled by Carl Jung, will help to understand the symbols with the help of which the subconscious mind informs us of this or that information regarding everyday life. Carl Gustav Jung, a psychiatrist from Switzerland, in his works really paid a lot of attention to the study and interpretation of dreams, since the information received helped in the diagnosis and treatment of his patients. However, Carl Jung did not compose dream books. Editions called "Carl Jung's Dream Book" are excerpts from his works (in which the psychiatrist really interprets many dream images from the visions of his patients or from dreams dreamed by Jung himself), such as "Metamorphoses and Symbols of Libido", "Memories, dreams, reflections "," Practical use of dream analysis "," Soul and myth, six archetypes ", etc.

Miller's dream book is considered the most authoritative. Indeed, the collection of interpretations of dream images, compiled by the American psychologist Gustav Hindman Miller and published in 1901 in New York, today is called Miller's Dream Book - 10,000 Interpretations of Your Dreams and is ranked among the classic ones. Moreover, the dream book gives not only the interpretation of dreams, but also some advice on how to behave in a particular situation, about which the subconscious warns a person in the form of dream images. However, it should be noted that, firstly, due to the change in lifestyle, some of the tips are outdated. Secondly, many objects that have come into use today (telephone, TV, computer, etc.) and now often dreamed of by people, Miller was simply unknown. As a result, it is impossible to find the interpretation of the mentioned images in this dream book.

Gustav Miller, in addition to the general, also compiled a female dream book. The book called "Women's Dreams" and attributed to the pen of this author is just a selection of 3000 images from his book "Miller's Dream Book - 10,000 Interpretations of Your Dreams." However, Miller himself did not take part in the compilation of the "Women's Dream Book" - the selection was made by the translators after the death of the American psychologist.

Dream Interpretation by Antonio Meneghetti will help to unravel almost any dream. Firstly, the philosopher, artist, psychotherapist and psychologist from Italy Antonio Meneghetti never compiled dream books. The so-called "Dream Book of Meneghetti" is a selection of dream interpretations from his book "Image and the Unconscious", which contains several dozen interpretations of dream images of his patients. Secondly, Meneghetti believed that if a person is healthy, then not all of his dreams should be interpreted. Some of them, as Meneghetti put it, "deviations generated by the monitor" (ie reflecting a distorted perception of reality or oneself), should be forgotten as soon as possible. However, if a person has any disease (physical or mental), dreams of this kind can give the psychotherapist information about the patient's deviations in the perception of reality.

The Polish Dream Book was created by the scientist Vladislav Kopalinsky, born in 1940. Firstly, this person was born in Warsaw on November 14, 1907 (although sometimes he liked to mislead others, indicating another year of birth - 1917). Secondly, the real name of the aforementioned author is Vladislav Sterling, changed in 1940 (when the German authorities issued an order to resettle the Jews of Warsaw in the ghetto) to Jan Stefchik. He was published under the pseudonym Vladislav Kopalinsky since June 10, 1951. Thirdly, Kopalinsky never received a complete higher education (at the university, at the Faculty of English Philology, he studied for only 2 years). He worked as an accountant, editor-in-chief and director of a publishing house, translator, feuilletonist, correspondent, radio journalist, and foreign language teacher. However, at the same time he created and published 8 dictionaries that were highly appreciated by professional linguists. And, finally, the "Polish Dream Book" or "Kopalinsky's Dream Book" is only part of the "Dictionary of Symbols" published by him in 1990, in which, according to the associative principle, images from folklore, literary works, astrology, alchemy, mysticism, etc.

Dream Interpretations are most often composed by psychologists. Not necessary. For example, the creator of the book "Happy Dreams", which contains a lot of information both on the interpretation of ordinary dreams and on the management of lucid dreams, Evgeny Petrovich Tsvetkov is a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences and a writer who has been studying dreams for more than 30 years and is interested in astrology. Vladislav Kopalinsky - linguist; Krada Veles (Irina Olegovna Volkova (Zakharova)) - teacher of mathematical analysis, linear algebra, analytical geometry and programming, trained at the Higher School of Witchcraft, Witchcraft and Healing; Valery Melnikov - scientist; Nikolai Konstantinovich Dmitrienko - folklorist, etc.

The lunar and solar dream books give a special interpretation of dream images. Most often, dream books called "lunar" (as well as "Dreams by day of the week") are not at all based on the interpretation of this or that image, but only indicate the degree of reliability of the dream in accordance with the calendar of lunar days (or days of the week). For example, according to astrologers, dreams seen on the first lunar day are likely to come true, and dreams on the second lunar day are most often empty and insignificant. It is also believed that dreams from Wednesday to Thursday relate to a person's professional activities (in particular, they are a reflection of his relationship with his superiors), from Thursday to Friday - most often come true, from Friday to Saturday - can help to understand a difficult life situation, etc. ...

"Solar" dream books can either, like lunar ones, contain indications of the degree of reliability of dreams (dreams seen on the first day of a month most often portend family troubles, 2.5 and 6 are likely to come true), or supplemented with brief information about the meaning several dream images. For example, according to one of the solar dream books, on the 8th sunny day, people often have prophetic dreams. Moreover, the image of fire, lightning or thunder seen on this day in a dream promises a person a change in life, while the starry sky or flight testifies to the fulfillment of desires and patronage. Dreamed icons - for the upcoming tests, a visit to the hairdresser (or hair loss) - for loss and ruin, death. The corridor seen in a dream on this day - to the loss of freedom, animals - to gossip and rumors, meat and blood - to illness. This completes the interpretation of dreams, and for the interpretation of other dream images, a person will have to turn to other dream books.

In order to correctly interpret a dream, one should also take into account the fact under which zodiac sign the dreamer was born. For this purpose, astrological dream books have been invented. Since ancient times, dream interpreters either themselves had quite extensive knowledge in astrology, or they used the services of professional astrologers. However, nowadays, the so-called astrological dream books most often give general information about what type of dreams are visited by people born under a particular zodiac sign. For example, prophetic dreams, according to astrologers, are most often dreamed by people born under the sign of Pisces (who, in addition, are endowed with the ability to interpret the most confusing dreams), Capricorns and Taurus mainly dream about family and work, etc. In some cases, astrological dream books are supplemented with information about the meaning of a particular dream image for a person born under a certain zodiac sign. For example, the dreamy image of the disease for Aries means the imminent appearance of new love relationships on the side, while Taurus promises difficulties and troubles at work. However, the list of such images is not so long (no more than 25) and is by no means complete (for example, the dream image of money is explained only for Aries, Taurus and Gemini, it is simply absent in the list of dreams of people belonging to the rest of the zodiac signs).

The same dream books are suitable for women and men. First, the set of dream images for women and men most often differs somewhat. Secondly, even the same dreams can be interpreted in different ways, depending on whether they were dreamed of by a representative of the stronger sex or a beautiful lady. Therefore, if a representative of the fair sex wants to analyze a particular dream image with maximum accuracy, she should turn to dream books that are more focused on a female audience (for example, Cleopatra's Dream Book, which contains interpretations of the queen's dreams made by Egyptian priests, " Dream Book of Melnikov ", etc.).
